Michael Landon Dream: New Lease on Life

Back story: I was taken to the Emergency Room by ambulance with an NSAID-induced GI bleed. They drew blood, typed me, and began giving me blood as soon as possible. My blood work revealed my hemoglobin level was at 4.6, which is life-threatening. I received 2 units of blood and was in and out of consciousness for the next few hours.

That night in the hospital, I dreamt about Michael Landon. In the dream, I asked God, “Why am I dreaming about Michael Landon?” He answered, “Because there are angels in your room.” I woke up immediately and sensed 2 angels in my room. One was at the door, preventing anyone else from entering. The other was at my bedside. I sensed he was touching and healing my body. I thanked God, and then I went back to sleep.

That morning, I felt so much better. Everyone kept commenting on how the color was back in my face. This was attributed to the 2 units of blood and the other medical efforts for which I am thankful. In addition to that, I knew I had been “touched by an angel.” Praise God!

That afternoon, I had an endoscopy. They expected to find an active ulcer. I signed a form stating that they could cauterize it or, if called for, do immediate surgery while I was under anesthesia. To their surprise, they found a recently healed ulcer, and no surgery was needed. Glory to God!

After the endoscopy, my hemoglobin level was 8, and I was told I could go home. The nurse who was working on my discharge papers gasped as she reviewed my chart. She saw my hemoglobin was measured at 4.6 when I was brought to the ER. She told me that people my age don’t always go home when they enter the hospital with hemoglobin that low. She was amazed. She called it a miracle that my hemoglobin improved so quickly and that I was alive. I told her about the angels. She believed me.

I’m thankful to the medical professionals who saved my life. I am grateful for the donated blood. I’m praising God for His mercy and His touch. I still have a ways to go as I continue to build up my hemoglobin level, but this experience has given me a new lease on life.

This new lease on life has impacted me in several areas.

• Physically, due to my hemoglobin level, I don’t have the stamina, strength, and energy I normally would. I have more time to sit with Jesus, more time for prayer, meditation, and Bible study, which is releasing a new lease on life and life abundant.

• My husband & I have been asked to lead an inner healing & deliverance ministry (RTF) at our church. A great deal of prayer has been invested in implementing this, along with considerable administrative work and communication. New lease on life – new responsibilities, more authority over the enemy.

• I was also asked to lead the intercessory prayer group. New lease on life – new responsibilities, more authority over the enemy.

• We are involved in launching a sister church. New lease on life - new building, new location, new fishing hole, new friends.

• It was necessary to rebuild my website from scratch. New Lease on Life – new website, new beginning.

“Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” 

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose."

Expect God to use even the hard things in your life for good. The enemy wanted to kill me. God did not let him succeed. Hallelujah! And, He is promoting me on many levels. All glory to Him!

Father, I thank You for the new lease on life! This event has also given me a greater appreciation for the life-giving blood of Jesus, which is the topic of my next blog.
